The Shanghai World Financial Centre is the fourth highest structure in all of China and 9th tallest anywhere in the world.
The Financial Centre's tower consists of a 101 floors above ground. These floors serve various purposes. With more than 70 of these floors dedicated to office spaces of some of the biggest multinational corporations of the world, the first 5 floors, including two in the basement, are maintained as shopping malls. The Park Hyatt Hotel is located at a dizzying height, covering 14 floors between the 79th and the 93rd. And above that are the observation levels, above and below the aperture at the top of the tower, with the highest observation deck maxing out at a mind boggling height of 474 metres on the 100th floor of the building! Despite it's humongous size, the tower is still made with a brilliant structural integrity. It is made to survive the odd lightning strike and also earthquakes up to a magnitude of 8 on the richter scale.
