Glowworm Kayak Tour

Waimarino Adventure Park’s one of the most unique experiences that should not be missed is the Glow Worm Kayaking. You might find glow worms somewhere else in New Zealand and you can go kayaking in many parts of the world but this is the only place where you can combine both for a unique and wonderful experience.

The glow worms can be seen only after sunsets, hence the tour departs an hour before the sunset as it takes 1-1.5 hours to get to the narrow part of the canyon, where the glow worms are sited.

The guides provide head-torches during the night. The guides at Waimarino Adventure Park are experienced and full of knowledge. The visitors get to hear the history and myths of Maori and their related stories to Lake Rotoiti. Visitors are also allowed to have New Zealand’s finest wines, fruit platter and much more during this magical experience.

Lake McLaren Tour

Experience the calmness of Lake McLaren by paddling a kayak through the clear water, lush native bush and a lot of birds. Kayak into the stunning Mangapapa canyon where the water is as deep as the cliffs on the sides and the native bush appears to touch and form a cave.

The fees for Lake McLaren Tour is charged separately and booking for the kayak tour should be done in advance. The duration of this tour is 4.5 hours. All relevant equipment are provided; chocolate bar and water, transport from Tauranga harbour and back, and an experienced local guide.

Cruise Ship Tours

The Waimarino Adventure Park also conducts Cruise Ship Tours & Shore Excursions. There are totally four tours scheduled for the visitors to explore Tauranga, Mount Maunganui or Rotorua in the Bay of Plenty.
