Today hydropower projects had to be closed due to the flood situation created after the cloudburst in Kanam, Moorung Nalla, Tangling and Tongtongche Nalla of Sangla Valley in the upscale Kinnaur district. Due to excess silt in the Sutlej River, power generation has been stopped from the Karcham Wangtoo of 1,000 MW, 300 MW Baspa Phase Two in the Baspa River, the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri in the Sutlej River and the 412 MW Rampur Hydro Project. Due to the high silts, the gates of Karcham and Nathpa dam have been opened.

The National Highway is blocked between Spilo and Kinso Khad in Kinnaur. The water level has increased in Ribba Nala and Rung Nala. Rainfall continues in the upper region. In some places, apple orchards of the owners have also been damaged due to floods. However, the situation is under control. Kinnaur and Rampur police officers have asked the people of the riverbank to take precautions. The process of rain will continue in Himachal Pradesh till August 14.
