We were grooving on the beats of Matargashti with Ved and Tara in Corsica, and that deep connection with Veera and Mahabir was felt at the beautiful Aru Valley. Not only with the fantastic story and cast, but Ali makes sure that his audience also falls in love with the beauty of the location.
In his latest, Love Aaj Kal, starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aryan, Ali has taken us back to the mountains; cue, the track titled Mehrama. Lying at the end of Sangla valley is a quaint village called Chitkul where the climax of the movie was shot. Though the entire track was shot in Sangla Valley, starting from the dam at Karchcham, a beautiful view of Baspa river from Raksham and then at the pretty backyard at Chitkul.
What Makes the Village Special?
Chitkul is majorly untouched from commercialization and is one of the hidden wonders of Himachal, hence adored by backpackers for its beauty and calmness. The entire valley is surrounded by the dense pine forest with snow-capped mountains and constant view of the roaring river Baspa. Mornings here are often misty as the clouds rest low in the valley and nights are full of twinkling stars. Also known as The Last Village of India, it is the last settlement before the Indo-Tibetan border. When do you plan to explore this magical village of Himachal? Let us know in the comments below.
