E-Visa services have been restored for Uzbekistan nationals across all five sub-categories: e-Tourist Visa, e-Business Visa, e-Medical Visa, e-Medical Attendant Visa, and e-Conference Visa. These visas permit entry into India through 28 designated international airports and five major seaports, similar to the privileges available to nationals of other countries under the e-Visa regime. This article is particularly a guide on Indian Tourist Visa for Uzbekistan Nationals.
How to Apply Indian e-Visa for Uzbekistan Nationals?
Step 1: Register and Fill Application
Visit the authorized portal for e-Visa applications.Select the e-Tourist Visa category and complete the application form.
Required Documents:
- Recent front-facing photograph with a white background.
- Scanned bio page of the passport showing the photograph and personal details.
Apply online at least four days before the date of arrival in India.
Step 2: Pay the E-Visa Fee Online

1 Month (Double Entry): $25
1 Year (Multiple Entry): $40
5 Years (Multiple Entry): $80
Fee Payment
- E-Visa fees are country/territory-specific and must be paid at least four days before the expected date of travel.
- Bank transaction charges of 2.5% will be added to the applicable e-Visa fees.
Step 3: Receive ETA Online
An Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) will be sent to your email.Confirm that your ETA status shows 'GRANTED' on the official website before your journey.
Step 4: Print the Online form
Print the ETA and present it at the Immigration Check Post in India where the e-Visa will be stamped on your passport.Biometric details will be captured at Immigration on arrival in India.
Note: The e-Visa is non-extendable, non-convertible, and not valid for visiting Protected/Restricted and Cantonment Areas without prior permission.
E-Visa Validity & Processing Time
The validity of an e-Visa depends on the service requested in the application form:
- e-Tourist Visa (1 year / 5 years): Valid for 365 days or 5 years from the date of ETA grant, allowing multiple entries. The maximum stay in India in one calendar year should not exceed 180 days.
- e-Tourist Visa (30 days): Valid for 30 days from the date of first arrival in India, permitting double entries within the e-Visa validity period stamped on your passport. Your first arrival must be between the issue date and the expiry date of the ETA.
General Guidelines
- Yellow Fever Vaccination: Nationals of Yellow Fever-affected countries or travelers arriving from these countries must carry a Yellow Fever Vaccination Card upon arrival in India to avoid quarantine.
- Passport Requirements: You must travel on the passport used for the e-Visa application. If ETA is issued on an old passport, carry both the old and new passports.
- Document Language: All documents, including business cards and invitation letters, must be in English.
- Application Responsibility: Applicants must fill out the e-Visa application themselves and ensure the correctness of all information provided.
How to Apply Indian Visa for Uzbekistan Nationals in Person?
Step 1: Online Application
Applicants must fill out the visa application online. Follow the instructions provided at Indian Visa Online. A digital photo must be uploaded as part of the application.Step 2: Printout Requirements
Once the application is completed, generate a PDF of the filled-in form. Print out this form and bring two copies of the same photograph uploaded during the online application.Step 3: Submission of Application

- 2 recent passport-size photos (51mm x 51mm) not older than three months.
- Photos should not have a uniform, with a white background and dark dress.
- Frontal view with eyebrows, ears, forehead, and chin completely visible.
- Clarity is crucial; edited, blurred, or unclear photos will not be accepted.
Financial Proof:
- Original passport and photocopies of current and old passports.
- Valid Uzbekistan residence visa page.
- Passport should have at least 6 months validity. Minimum of 2 blank pages in the passport.
6-month bank statement of the applicant.
Travel and Accommodation:
- Travel booking in the applicant’s name.
- Hotel booking in the applicant’s name.
- Travel tickets/booking in the applicant’s name.
- Travel plan.
Visa applications are to be submitted in person at the Consular Section of the Embassy of India in Tashkent during the following hours:
Acceptance of Visa Applications: Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Collection of Visas: On the date specified: 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Emergency Fee
An additional emergency fee of $35 will be charged under the following circumstances, subject to approval by the competent authority:
- Visa needs to be issued beyond office hours or on holidays.
- Appointment date is preponed.
- Visa is issued the same day.
- Appointment date is preponed and the visa is issued on the same day.
An additional fee of $3 will be added to each visa document, as per government instructions.
Processing Time
The processing time for an Uzbekistan visa is typically 5 to 10 business days following the submission of your application form.General Information
- Digital Photograph: It is mandatory to upload a digital photograph according to the specified parameters. Applications without the uploaded photograph will be rejected.
- Biometric Data: Applicants must be present at the Embassy to provide biometric data.
- Children’s Applications: A separate visa form is required for each child traveling with a parent, even if the child's name is included in the parent's passport.
- Visa Stickers: New visa stickers are issued without a signature or stamp from the Embassy.
- Non-residents: Non-Uzbekistan residents, who are casual visitors and not normally residing in Uzbekistan, should apply for an Indian visa in their country of residence or origin.
- Validity: The visa validity starts from the date of issue.
- Additional Documents: The Embassy reserves the right to ask for additional documents. Applicants must ensure they provide all required documents and carry all original documents for scrutiny at the Embassy.
- Non-extendable & Non-convertible: The tourist visa cannot be extended. It cannot be used for other purposes, including any type of work, employment, contract, or business in India.
- Fee and Application: Visa processing will commence after the payment of the fee. Submission of application along with the prescribed fee does not guarantee issuance of the visa.
- Re-entry Restrictions: The Indian government has lifted the two-month gap restriction on re-entry for foreign nationals on Tourist Visas, except for nationals of Afghanistan, China, Iraq, Sudan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and foreigners of Pakistani origin.
- Overstaying: Applicants are advised to adhere strictly to the purpose for which the visa is sought during their stay in India and to avoid overstaying.
