How to Apply for an Indian Visa from Egypt
To apply for an Indian visa, follow these steps:Note: The e-Visa is not available to individuals with Pakistani origins or holders of Diplomatic/Official passports and certain international travel documents.
- Log on to the Visa Application Portal
- Select 'Regular Visa Application'. Fill in the Application Form
- Upload Your Photo: Ensure the photo meets the specifications.
- Confirm that all information is accurate, then click ‘Verified & Continue’.
- Submit the Application: Once submitted, print out the application form.
- Submit the printed form along with two passport-size photographs and any necessary supporting documents to the Consular Section at 3 Abu El Feda Street, Zamalek, Cairo.

Visits to the Embassy of India in Cairo are strictly by appointment. For specific services, visitors must visit the designated section of the embassy and book an appointment accordingly using the provided email addresses. For instance, if you need consular services, you should visit the Consular Section. To book an appointment, you can directly email the high commission or the consular office.
Submission Hours: Physical forms, duly signed, are accepted from Sunday to Thursday between 09:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Applications must be submitted at the counter along with the prescribed fees, which are accepted only in Egyptian Pounds and in cash. Applications sent through courier services will not be accepted.
Collection Hours: Delivery of passports and documents is scheduled between 14:00 hrs and 15:00 hrs.
General Guidelines
- Form Completion: Ensure all fields in the application form are filled. Printed copies must have signatures where required.
- Verification: Carefully check the spelling of names, dates, and other details on your passport, visa, or documents at the time of collection.
- Seal and Signature: Verify that the seal and signature are affixed on your passport, visa, or document before leaving the counter. If any errors are detected, promptly inform the consular officer for correction, if possible.
Documents Required to Apply an Indian Visa from Egypt
- Completed Application Form
- Passport original and copies. Must be valid for at least six months at the time of application with 2 blank pages.
- Two colored passport-size photos.
- Copy of a recent bank statement.
Indian Visa Fee for Egyptian Nationals
Effective from April 2, 2024- Tourist Visa (multiple entry) valid for up to one year: EGP 4800
- Tourist Visa (multiple entry) valid for up to 5 years: EGP 9600
Indian Visa Validity & Processing Time
The e-visa will be granted for a period of up to 60 days, allowing double entry for e-Tourist and e-Business visas, and triple entry for e-Medical visas. In the case of e-Medical visas, extensions of up to 6 months may be granted on a case-by-case basis, depending on the merits of each case, by the FRRO/FRO concerned.For Egyptian nationals, the duration of the visa will be determined by the relevant Indian Missions/Posts, with a maximum validity of 5 years. Each visit under this visa must not exceed 90 days of continuous stay.Processing Time : 3-5 Working days
