The Embassy of India, Doha, issues visas for various purposes including tourism and business in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Government of India. Tourist visas are generally granted for single or multiple entries for a duration of six months, effective from the date of issue. These visas are non-extendible and non-convertible. Frequent travelers may be considered for longer-duration multiple entry visas. Supporting documents may be required to prove the applicant's financial standing. Group tourists under recognized travel agencies can apply for collective tourist visas.

How to Apply Indian Visa from Qatar?

Applicants must fill out their visa application forms online at Indian Visa Online and submit the printed forms along with required documents and fees at the Embassy during the submission hours.

Embassy Working Hours
The Embassy of India in Doha operates from Sunday to Thursday, observing Friday and Saturday as weekly holidays. The working hours are from 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM. For a detailed list of other holidays, please refer to the "List of Holidays" on the official website.

Requirements for a Tourist Visa

  • Original Passport (minimum validity of six months)
  • Copy of Passport
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs (Photograph Requirements)
  • Completed Online Application Form (Fill Form Here)
  • Applicable Visa Fee in Cash (Qatari Riyals)
  • Copy of Qatari ID card
  • Proof of hotel accommodation in India
  • Airline ticket to India
  • Letter from Employer/Sponsor or a Bank Statement (last one month). For minors, documents from either parent may be submitted.

A surcharge of QR 11 is added to each visa service for the Indian Community Welfare Fund.

Processing Time & Validity of Indian Visa from Qatar

The validity duration of the visa will be determined by the respective Indian Missions/Posts, with a maximum period of 5 years. It is specified that continuous stay during each visit should not exceed 90 days, and registration is not required.

Registration of Foreign Nationals in India

Foreign nationals with long-term visas (exceeding six months) must register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival if their stay exceeds six months. Nationals from Pakistan must register within 24 hours, while Afghan nationals must register within 14 days, except those on visas valid for 30 days or less who provide a local address. US, Canada, and Japan nationals with 10-year tourist visas are exempt from registration for stays under 180 days. For registration, visit the FRRO Contact List.

Important Notice: Advisory on Fraudulent Calls

The Embassy of India has been informed that fraudsters are spoofing its phone numbers to make fraudulent calls. These imposters claim to be Embassy employees and request personal information such as names, dates of birth, credit card details, and passport numbers. They may also try to extort money by alleging errors in passports, visa forms, or immigration forms, threatening deportation or imprisonment if the errors are not corrected by paying a fee.

The Embassy of India, Doha, confirms that NO official will ever call to seek personal information. The public is advised to ignore such suspicious calls and not to disclose personal information or transfer money. Report any such incidents to the Embassy at [email protected].
