Prague Zoo, located in the Troja district, about 4 km (2.5 miles) north of the city center, is renowned for its exceptional care of animals, innovative exhibits, and significant contributions to conservation, including saving Przewalski’s horse from near extinction. Opened in 1931, it covers 58 hectares (140 acres) and houses over 5,000 animals across 676 species, making it one of the largest and most well-regarded zoos in the world.
