Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai has been ranked as the best airport in terms of size and region by the Airport Council International (ACI) World in over forty million passenger category. Mumbai Airport was awarded the title based on passenger feedback across airports on thirty-four key performance indicators. These included various parameters such as airport facilities, access security screening, check-in, restrooms and restaurants. The factors also contributed to the satisfaction of the air travellers.
This is one of the most prestigious rewards for any airport operator in the world. The Airport Council International (ACI) announced the award that was represented by one thousand nine hundred and fifty-three member airports across one hundred seventy-six countries. The survey is conducted every year on a global platform and reflects the airport’s operation and excellence in different service parameters. The award ceremony will be taking place in the first week of September in Bali, Indonesia.
In order to provide more convenience, Mumbai Airport has introduced the Surface Awareness and Guidance at Airport (SAGA) and also implemented smart digital initiatives by executing paperless boarding for domestic flights. It is also the first and only airport in our country to publish the sustainability report on different activities that the airport has undertaken.
