A place that brings people together to share happiness, The Lil Flea – city’s biggest shopping, food and cultural festival is back and is celebrating its 3rd anniversary over two weekends of happiness. Block your calendar for April 1-2 and April 8-9!
And there are many reasons why this is looking like one edition that you just wouldn’t want to miss! Including a fantastic new venue at JioGarden, BKC, 250 highly curated pop shops of which one hundred are from outside of Mumbai, movies under the stars, storytelling sessions, art walls, workshops and much more.
Weekends call for time with friends and family and what’s more exciting than going to a festival that offers something for everybody? With a list of new and exciting activities, this edition of The Lil Flea is the one you shouldn’t miss. This time, it’s showcasing about 250 pop-up shops from which over 100 amazing brands are travelling from all across the country. The Lil Flea will also have a beautifully done up food cafe with more than 60 home chefs and food brands. Binding all this together are over 12 live bands to keep you entertained through the evening.
Continuing with the tradition of promoting independent music, the music lineup includes Swarathma, Prem Joshua & Band and Thalavattam from outside Mumbai. Among the Mumbai bands, the big highlight will be the All Star Jam made up of members of three different bands including Clayton Hogermeer, Sid Coutto, Ankur Tiwari & more. Other bands that you will surely love include Kabir Cafe, Tejas, Zoya, Fanculos and a Jazz Jam.
This anniversary edition, The Lil Flea has curated a plethora of pop-up food stalls, offering something to suit everyone’s palate. With local, regional and global cuisines- you’ll be able to eat your way around the world. Delve into a large spread of cuisine varying from Parsi fare from Firdy’s, Dilan’s Turkish Delight, a beloved confectionary that makes its way all the from Turkey and Mexican and Asian coming together at Taco Bao. Satisfy your sweet tooth with Cookiezza from Get My Dough and delicious Bina’s home-made ice creams, and don’t miss out some juicy burgers from The Burgery.
Adding to the happy vibes will be Stage Left; a first of a kind Festival Bar Experience co-curated by BarCzar and The Lil Flea. Placed right next to the music stage, listen to music while choosing from a delectable selection of handpicked cocktails. This includes beer and wines from the city’s best bars including Bombay Cocktail Bar, Barking Deer and Stables with their signature cocktails, microbreweries like Whiteowl and Brewbot, Globe in a Glass by Sula Wines, Fruity Sangrias by Woodside and Alcohol Slushes by Cool Story.
If you’re tired of settling for the usual ‘Netflix & Chill’ binge, catch a movie from 10 PM to midnight, every night under the stars. Movies include the French cult classic “Amelie”, Audrey Hepburn’s “Roman Holiday”, Jack Nicholson’s “As Good as It Gets” and Bicycle Thieves.
Other activities also include the Lil Book Exchange where you can trade your book for another and leave with a bag full of stories waiting to unfold. Everyone has stories to tell. Learn the Art of Storytelling in an engaging workshop hosted by Bombay’s premier storytelling collective, Kommune. Listen to the masters of storytelling share their stories or share your own.
Also, get your hands dirty with this unique art workshop that teaches you to paint with charcoal. The Lil Flea is also There’s something for the little ones as well. Bring them munchkins for workshops ranging from puppet making to art workshops by artist Kaizin Pooniwala at the Art Playground. Then there is slack lining, puzzle games and even mini camping and playful art by PugMarks.
