The best time to visit Thessaloniki is Mid August to mid-October, when tourists can enjoy festivities side by side with perfect weather. Spring, from March to May, is among the best months to visit, with average temperatures in March and getting warm through May. Thessaloniki's festivals take place in Summer (June to August). Summer is warm and humid and the best season to have the best food, explore open-air cinemas and concerts and have great music at Roman Agora.
Autumn, from September to November, gradually cools down through the months, and it rains just 3 to 4 days per month with some festivals like Reworks music festivals, the religious festival of Dmitria, the International Festival and Mysticon. Winter (December to February) in Thessaloniki is not too extreme and pretty enjoyable. Rain and fog are quite common these days, with a few days with snow. The only downside can be limited nightlife and no outdoor sittings in restaurants.
